Danny Cannis is a versatile and dynamic performer with a career spanning musical theatre, concert performance, television, and commercial work. Trained at the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts and Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts, Danny combines strong vocal ability, acting skill, and dance training to deliver compelling performances across a range of genres.
Danny has taken on iconic roles such as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast (Neptune Theater) and Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story: The Musical (Disney Cruise Lines). Other notable credits include Guido Contini in Nine (Annex Theatre), Sir Lionel in Camelot (U.S. National Tour and Drayton Entertainment), and Manny Munoz in City of Angels (Theatre by the Bay).He has become a standout presence aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, starring as Captain Viz in The Effectors (Odyssey of the Seas), and as John in The Beautiful Dream (Ovation of the Seas). He also led productions like Live Love Legs, Sonic Odyssey, and Sequins and Feathers, showcasing his vocal versatility and stage charisma.
Beyond theatre, Danny performed as Dean Martin in the Rat Pack Tribute Show, which toured across Canada. He also performed as a backup vocalist for legendary Greek singer George Dalaras at New York’s Lincoln Center, a nod to his heritage and his ability to perform in traditional Greek styles. Whether portraying a hero, a villain, or a romantic lead, Danny Cannis brings passion and undeniable spark to every performance. His ability to transform onstage brings a commanding presence on any stage or screen he steps onto.
