Village Idiots
by Ben Anderson, Directed by Brennan Bielefeld
June 4, 2026 – June 8, 2026
It’s Friday afternoon at the Newton Village council office, and three eccentric council members are desperate to clock out for a long weekend. Their plans are spectacularly derailed when a panicked townsperson named Jenny arrives with a wild claim: a giant bear has eaten her brother and is charging toward the village. Rather than mounting a rescue, the council uses creative gaslighting to avoid doing their jobs. When the bear actually arrives, the chaos reaches a fever pitch. Village Idiots is a brilliantly absurd satire on bureaucracy, proving that in Newton Village, the most dangerous predators are the ones sitting behind the desks.

I'm Taye Lee Theophilus -- I've been acting for 5-6 years now, and I’ve really fallen in love with it! I’ve been in shows like; Matilda, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, TRAP, Anne of Green Gables, and a handful more. I’m a big fan of comedy, which is why I love THIS show so much! I’ve genuinely laughed more times than I should have during the rehearsal for this show — it’s hard to keep a straight face with at times. Couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity! @taye.leephil
I'm Jordan, a local actor for the past 8 years. Recently I was awarded an Acting Award of Merit for my role as Link and Mr. Burg at the NTS Theatre Festival.
