Associate Producer - She/Her
Rochelle is thrilled to be joining the Theatre by the Bay team in yet another rewarding role. Primarily an actor, writer, and director, Rochelle is best known as the Founder and Artistic Director of her own Collingwood-based company, Quarter Century Theatre. She holds her BFA in Acting, her MA in Writing, Directing, & Performance, and about a thousand other certificates and qualifications from the countless courses, classes, and workshops she takes.
Prior to being appointed the Associate Producer, she was TBTB's Production Manager in 2019 and (what would have been) 2020, and she is also one of the commissioned playwrights for the 2021 season. In that time, Rochelle has grown to appreciate how progressive, professional, and fun TBTB is, and she is looking forward to what the future holds.
The opportunity to design, develop, and oversee TBTB's new film initiative is without a doubt one of the most significant, and humbling, steps in her career to-date. Rochelle is dedicated to creating bold, innovative theatre, and has successfully programmed shows that seamlessly combine theatre with film and multimedia, so this role feels very much like an acceleration of her ongoing mission. She is also a seasoned producer, so the invitation to lend her skills, experience, and tenacity to this new initiative is extraordinary. Further, the opportunity to launch this wonderful new facet of TBTB with Khaleel; her long-time colleague, creative partner, and friend, simply enriches the entire experience tenfold. Thank-you to Iain, PJ, the Board, and all of the TBTB staff and volunteers who continue propelling the company to new heights.
Onwards and upwards!
