create@theatrebythebay.com

Leah Holder is a Toronto-based actor, director, writer, and educator. As a director she predominantly works in the creation of new work, and also has a wealth of experience in site-specific and found space pieces. She has directed work for Summerworks (hiraeth) and the North American Festival of Wales (Beyond the Pail). Her theatre work has taken her across Canada, and she looks forward to the day when she can say she has “theatre-d” in every province and territory. As an educator she teaches workshops on dialect and voice, and is also an Artist Educator at Young People’s Theatre. Leah wholeheartedly believes that learning our craft is never done, and she is delighted to be working on the education side of things at Theatre by the Bay. She directed The Cenotaph Project and the touring version of We Must Have More Men (TBTB). She is the playwright and lead actor of the sold-out production of Mary of Shanty Bay (TBTB).

She is the winner of an RBC Emerging Artist Grant (TBTB 2016), the inaugural Stephen Graham Bird award (TNB), and is a graduate of George Brown Theatre School. Leah is originally from New Brunswick.
