Theatre by the Bay’s 2017 season!

Presented by TD

Theatre by the Bay is evolving its programming for its 2017 season. After the successes of The Nine Mile Portage and WE MUST HAVE MORE MEN!, our company has decided to focus on producing work that is about, for, and created by the community of Barrie. This is a big move for the professional regional theatre company, known nationally for its Shakespeare in the Park and popular musical offerings.

The Stars Come Out 2017 ‘Barrie’s biggest night’ is back!  Featuring extraordinary talent from across North America, an incredible silent and live auction experience, and so much more, The Stars Come Out is certain to be as magical as ever!

The Stars Come Out will be on stage at the Georgian Theatre on May 8th, 2017. Tickets are available now here

The Five Points is a new original work that explores the themes of Barrie today and the stories of the city we call home. “Barrie is a fascinating place,” muses company Artistic Director Alex Dault, “Especially downtown. Spend five minutes standing at the Five Points listening to the conversations and a whole new world opens up to you.” Dault and his actors intend to conduct interviews with city residents about their experiences of living in Barrie.

The Five Points will run at the Mady Centre for the Performing Arts from July 19th to the 29th.

Tickets are available now through the website of the Mady Centre for the Performing Arts here.

Land of Make Believe is an incredibly fun and imaginative children’s show created by the same dynamic duo who wrote Theatre by the Bay’s sold-out production of Adventure Island. Land of Make Believe promises magic, music, dance and make believe for the whole family!

Land of Make Believe will run the Mady Centre for the Performing Arts from July 19th to the 29th.

Tickets are available now through the website of the Mady Centre for the Performing Arts here.

We Must Have More Men! Barrie & the Great War, the sold out sensation of our 2016 season, will be back as part of Canada’s 150th anniversary Remembrance Day celebrations. This production draws from the stories of real Barrie men who rose to the occasion and fought for their country, as well as the struggles of those they left behind.

WE MUST HAVE MORE MEN! will run from November 1st to the 18th, 2017.
