Romeo and Juliet

“Romeo and Juliet”, the tragic tale of "two star-crossed lovers", each hailing from families with long-held feuds against one another.
This production, by our Intermediate Company of players, will be performed under the stars in Barrie's waterfront Heritage Park. There will be a Q&A after every performance along with an opportunity meet the cast.

Munsch Ado About Nothing
Adapted by Debbie Patterson
Based on the stories of Robert Munsch this fun, wacky and slightly irreverent play takes us on a crazy trip through the outrageous stories of one of Canada’s best loved authors! This 60 minute adventure, suitable for the entire family, includes singing, dancing, audience participation and of course some great stories.
There will be a Meet and Greet with the cast after each show.

Message from the Artistic Director
Welcome to the Theatre by the Bay’s 12th season. Nick and I are pleased to return to Theatre by the Bay to present yet another fantastic season of live entertainment in downtown Barrie. Our goal has always been to produce an eclectic mix of entertainment and events that are sure to please all audiences. Live theatre contributes to making Barrie a wonderful place to grow up in, to live in and to visit.
Our 2012-2013 season is rich with themes of love, friendship and family. Our Main Stage production of the classic American musical Crazy for You and the 50’s style production of Romeo and Juliet performed by our Intermediate Company are sure to have audiences falling head over heels. Our Young Company will be performing Munsch Ado About Nothing, an adaptation by Debbie Patterson based on the stories of Robert Munsch. This production is a fun, wacky and slightly irreverent exploration of childhood, families and friendship told through the outrageous stories of one of Canada’s best-loved authors.
Our 12th season would not be complete without a whole host of special events and educational workshops taking place throughout the year. We look forward to having you join us for what promises to be another exciting season at Theatre by the Bay.

This season marks our second year at the Mady Centre for the Performing Arts.
Located at the site of the former Scotiabank at Five Points in downtown Barrie, the building underwent major renovations over the past 18 months to turn it into one on Barrie's premier live theatre venues.
