2012 Season
2012 marks our move to the Mady Centre for the Performing Arts
Great Stories Well Told
This season marks the start of our second decade of providing outstanding live theatre. With three exciting productions taking place at the new Mady Centre for the Performing Arts, we are pleased to present a fresh new format.
The Plays

We start July 26th with Man of La Mancha, directed by Scott A. Hurst.
Also known as “The Impossible Dream musical”, Man of La Mancha lit up the New York stage for the first time in 1965 winning the Tony Award for Best Musical and lasting for an incredible 2,328 performances. It tells the story of the “mad” knight, Don Quixote, as a play within a play, performed by the playwright Cervantes and his fellow prisoners as he awaits a hearing with the Spanish Inquisition.

We welcome back Lee Wilson to direct this season’s production of Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor.
Queen Elizabeth so enjoyed the character of the vainglorious knight Sir John Falstaff, that she commissioned Shakespeare to write a play allowing him to pursue his love of the fairer sex. This bawdy, comic romp has the unique distinction of being the only one of the Bard’s plays to deal with the contemporary Elizabethan middle class life and times for which he wrote.

Fun-Fun for the whole Family-Family, we are pleased to present Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang, by Mordecai Richler.
Jacob Two-Two has to say everything twice to be heard simply because he’s the youngest of five children. His quest to be taken seriously takes him into a fantastic world of larger than life characters including Master Fish, Mistress Fowl, and (gulp!)… The Hooded Fang!

The upcoming season marks our move to the brand new Mady Centre for the Performing Arts.
Located at the site of the former Scotiabank at Five Points in downtown Barrie, the building underwent major renovations over the past 18 months to turn it into one on Barrie's premier live theatre venues.
